Document properties for the whole batch, side by side
Load a folder and the Metadata module reads every file's document properties into a single grid: Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Producer, Creator, and the creation and modification dates. Inconsistent titling, a wrong author on half the archive, tool names left behind by whatever produced the files — problems that are invisible one-file-at-a-time are obvious when 300 rows sit next to each other.
Alongside the editable properties, each row flags what else the file is carrying: XMP metadata, GPS location data, embedded file attachments, digital signatures, and form fields — the things you want to know about before a document set is produced, published, or shipped to a third party.

Custom properties preserved
Files often carry non-standard properties written by other tools. An edit carries them through untouched instead of silently dropping them — a round-trip does not strip what you didn't ask it to.
Scrub mode
Strip metadata before documents leave the building
PDF metadata leaks more than most people expect: author usernames, internal tool and template names, timestamps that contradict a cover letter. Scrub mode removes the document metadata — the Info dictionary properties and the XMP packet — across every loaded file in one pass, producing clean copies for distribution.
Like every module, output is your choice: add a suffix alongside the originals, save to a separate folder preserving subfolder structure, or overwrite in place (licensed). And because Metadata is a Batch Pipeline step, scrubbing can run as part of a larger sequence — redact, optimize, scrub metadata, encrypt — in one click.

How does the CSV round-trip work for bulk metadata editing?
Export writes one CSV row per loaded PDF with a column per metadata field. Open it in Excel, edit values — retitle 300 reports, fix an author name, standardize keywords — then import the file back. Each row is matched to its PDF and the edited values are applied in one batch run.
Does editing metadata modify the page content?
No. Metadata edits touch only the document's Info dictionary and XMP packet — the pages, text, images, form fields, and layout are untouched.
What does Scrub mode remove?
Scrub strips the document metadata — the Info dictionary properties and the XMP packet — so files can be distributed without leaking author names, internal tooling names, or revision hints. The inspection grid also flags files carrying GPS data, embedded file attachments, digital signatures, or forms, so you know what else a file is carrying before it goes out. For removing sensitive page content, use the Redact module.
